Explanation:
The coupler bar
(green) has points B and D each having a straight part in their coupler curve. The
rockers (blue) have a dwell when point B or D respectively pass the straight
part. These dwells alternate, see the motion diagram of the x-co-ordinates. Point
K shows that other coupler points have not the property of a straight line.

Remarks:
The dimensions b and d can be calculated, using the equation of Euler/Savary,
such that the curvature of the coupler curve is exactly zero. This has been
done in the symmetry positions of the slider-crank mechanism. The results are
listed in the column “updated”
